Defeating Opposition

Preacher:
Passage: Nehemiah 4
Service Type:

Nehemiah 4
Nehemiah gives us several principals to put into practice which helps us overcome fear and opposition.
1. How do I react to Ridicule? (vv 1-6)
The ridicule of rebuilding the wall brought out the best in Nehemiah and his people.
2. Am I easily intimidated? (vv 7-9)
The enemy's goal was to show a great force of strength and frighten the Jews into inactivity. So often, intimidation creates paralysis.
3. Do I quickly overcome discouragement? (v 10)
when discouragement hits, focus quickly upon the magnificence of the Sovereign God and how much He means to you, and you to Him; and then watch as godly confidence devours discouragement.
4. How do I respond when facing fear? (vv 11-20)
In essence, Nehemiah said, "if we fear the Lord, we need not fear the enemy."
